In case you haven't heard, BBC Four is broadcasting Perfume, a three-part series about the global fragrance industry. If, like me, you don't live in the UK, you will find that some helpful souls have posted the series online (part 1 of episode 1 linked below).
The first episode starts at the Guerlain flagship shop; then Chandler Burr steps into the frame, testing a raft of new releases - "There's just so much of it, and only so much of Chandler Burr to spray it on..." Presently there's a fly-on-the-wall view of the marketing campaign of Tommy Hilfiger Loud, before we retire back into the world of Guerlain and Thierry Wasser. So far I'm riveted...it reminds me greatly of Burr's The Perfect Scent. If you have seen this series, I'd be most interested to hear what you think.
